Dan Croll is no veteran to the stage. In fact, he has been singing and writing since he was a teenager. On Thursday night he reminded Webster Hall just how talented he is. The British born singer and songwriter came to New York City hot off his latest single, “Swim” (Communion Music, 2016), to support the Norwegian songstress Aurora on her national tour. Croll’s style, which can best be described as a synchronistic melding of soul, electric, and acoustic music, fit perfectly with the tone of the evening and set the bar higher than high.

What makes Croll such an incredible live act is his natural expertise; he manages to captivate any room with almost no effort (or gesture). Whether he’s playing the guitar or seated at the piano, there is a insatiable energy that emanates from Croll’s lyrics and overall tune. Croll looks at ease and at home seducing audiences with songs like “From Nowhere” and “One of Us.” While Croll may leave fans wondering what’s in store for the future, there’s no doubt that his sophomore album (when it inevitably drops) will rock the music industry and charts alike.
