On Thursday night Ryn Weaver brought her musical stylings to New York City via Webster Hall. The indie-pop newcomer released “The Fool”, her freshman album, earlier this year on Mad Love/Interscope Records. Around the same time, her single “Octohate” reached number one on Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart–and with good cause. There is a cool and mysterious tone in her voice and an utterly enchanting, if not altogether charming and sensual, essence about her. Despite the critical acclaim and momentum she has built around her single, Ryn may be one of the most underrated artists of 2015.

From start to finish, Weaver’s live performance is something of a wonder. Her sounds and stylings shine brighter than they they do on her album, almost making her concerts a somewhat transformative experience (tempting the audience to reconsider the power of live music when presented properly). Those who came to show their support on Thursday were embraced the intimate experience with heart and soul as Weaver gave all she had (despite slightly underselling the venue). Weaver is truly an artist to watch in the coming years, and a live act not to be missed.
