No strangers to cramped spaces, the Brooklyn duo Holy Ghost! took the stage Saturday night at the Fillmore Auditorium as the first billed act in a show that was set to captivate Denver audiences. Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel (the comprising members of the band) brought their new age synthpop sound in full force and, despite their physical confinement, owned the stage in their half hour set–needless to say, they had few other options with St. Lucia and Empire of the Sun trailing close behind.

Coming off a strong festival season, Holy Ghost! seems right at home among top billed artists as they continue to gain significant attention from media outlets and the general public. Since their sophomore release Dynamics (2013, DFA Records), the duo have been busy touring, spreading their name and beats, and keeping their loyal fans content while they anxiously await Holy Ghost’s next album release (notable among which are Denver fans, who managed to grab three tour dates in 2015). All said, their live shows are what keep this band on top. What can be said about their live shows is that it the duo are continually striving to keep crowds moving. Holy Ghost! are simply engaging and full of life, bringing a strong balance charisma and integral beats to involve and encourage their audience to take part in the musical experience they offer. It’s safe to say that if the duo continue on the route they are on, they are slated for greatness in the coming years.
