Billboard’s Hot 100 Music Festival rolled through Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in New York this past weekend, bringing with it an all-star lineup that included heavy hitters Ariana GrandeCalvin HarrisJ. ColeFetty Wap, and Martin Garrix. The two-day festival marked the second year of the soirée, Billboard and Live Nation’s first joint endeavor into the festival circuit (and it is one that has been gaining relative traction in the New York area). While the weekend was marked with some high tide and bouts of rain, festival-goers were determined to make the most of what turned out to be a pretty incredible weekend.

Highlights, outside of the event’s headliners, included performances by Sleigh BellsNiykee HeatonRachel PlattenGryffinGalantisNERVORae Sremmurd, and Hayley Kiyoko—each bringing a unique and alternative vibe to main stage performers (in fact, it would not be much of a surprise if they landed main stage spots in years to come as the hype continues to grow around each of these respective artists). Unlike last year’s festival, this year brought with it a diverse landscape of musical genres—laying it on thick with electronic/house, but bringing an eclectic mix of rock, rap, and pop music along for the ride. Closing the weekend out with a bang, Billboard shot off fireworks, which captured the imagination of fans that can only dream of what the festival has in store for them next year.
